Step on the PEDAL!
It’s time to step up! Back on April 28 of 2011, my profile of The Lowcountry Blues Club’s current President, Billy Gadol was featured here. If you haven’t already had the opportunity to try a prototype or haven’t read about it yet, hit him up on Facebook, Kickstarter.com or go to:

Our Valentine's are Blue!
Hello Valentines! Whether you’re in the mood to sing “She’s My Pride And Joy” or “The Thrill Is Gone”, we’ve got the blues for you! This weekend features some truly fantastic shows! Also, roses and chocolate will go much better with a new CD from your local favorites!
The Lowcountry’s Royal Family, Mama and The Redemption have their CD release party this Saturday night at Smokey’s Place. “Love Perpetrators” is already available on iTunes. There might not be a more authentic emotional musical experience than watching and listening to the Wall family express their art. When you go, ask Poppa if he’s in the mood to tell the story behind “Change Someone”. When I had the pleasure of backing them up, performing that song was certainly one of my most treasured experiences. Either way, go buy “Love Perpetrators”. https://itunes.apple.com/album/love-perpetrators/id600712032?v0=9988&ign-mpt=uo%3D1
As you know, The Port City Prophets were this years’ winner of our Blues Challenge and The Lowcountry Blues Club’s representative at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Their new CD “Mule” is available now at www.cdbaby.com or at a PCP show. “Mule” will also soon be on iTunes. This is Major Label stuff! Compare it to any of your favorite blues discs, compare it to any disc on the blues charts. Then check back soon because it just may be listed there! It’s easy to hear why they were chosen to represent the Lowcountry! Get it and give it…
Previously, I have mentioned that some of my truly favorite discs are from right here in the Lowcountry. Leslie, Skye Paige, Gaslight Street, Louie D Project, Dan Wright… Now I have two more to add to the list!
The Holiday starts off with bang on Thursday. Of course, by the time you read this, both the Grace Potter and Elise Testone shows will undoubtedly be sold out. In which case, where else but Smokey’ Place for a Valentine’s Day Dance? In fact, Smokey has a full weekend planned for all of you Blues Love-birds:
THURSDAY:
Screamin’ Junior and The Utter Tuggers Valentine’s Day Dance at Smokey’s Place
FRIDAY:
Big Daddy Cade’s Jimi Hendrix Tribute Show at Smokey’s Place
North By South Acoustic Duo at MAC’s Place on East Bay
Louie D Project w/ J.R. Getches at Molly Darcy’s on East Bay Downtown
