Finals coming soon

Hi All -

All the bands that played in the Blues Challenge Round 2 were great, and we thank them all for coming out!! Thanks go to everyone who helped put this together, including Billy Gadol, Rob Lowe, Encore Music, and the judges - Dan Wright (past winner of Guitar Center's "King of the Blues" and two time IBC winner), Wilton Elder (saxophone player from Super Deluxe and music professor at Trident Tech) and Tim Kirkendall (bassist/singer from the Port City Prophets who recently opened for Robert Cray at Blues-Stock in NY). It's awesome to have a guitarist, sax player and bassist who are all seasoned veterans.

We sincerely thank all the musicians. And Captain Kirk did a great job collecting money which will help the winning band get to Memphis! The finals will consist of the four top-scoring bands from the two rounds combined, and they are: The J Edwards Band, Highway 17 Blues Band, Nate Mills and the Blue Plate Specials, and Momma & the Redemption Band. Mark Sunday, November 6, 3:30 pm, on your calendar, so you won't miss the fun, at Home Team BBQ/West Ashley! We don't have confirmation yet, but we hope to be able to have a jam after the finals, as well.

Tonight - Friday: Starling (w/ Captain Kirk) is at Skynyrd’s in St. George. Mason Dixon Band (w/ Scott Bucholtz) at Fat Boys in Moncks Corner. The Hibachi Heroes (w/ Rob Lowe and Sammy Derrick) are taking over the Village Tavern, 9pm.
