Entry fee due Sept 5!

Hi All -

The Lowcountry Blues Challenge is fast approaching, and if your band would like to be considered, your entry fee is due by Sept 5!! Please email RobLoweSC@gmail.com for information. We also need 3 songs, a bio,and a hi-res jpg. The winner of this battle of the bands will have the opportunity to go to Memphis (in late January 2012) to represent the Lowcountry at the International Blues Challenge!

From Scott Bucholtz, here are some options for your weekend:

Thursday Night: Hundred Hands Down w/ Fowler’s Mustache at The Village Tavern – Mt. P. Homemade Wine is at Red’s Icehouse in Seabrook Thursday and Friday. Friday Night: Graham Whorley Band at Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ – Sullivans Island, The Highway 17 Blues Band is at Smokey’s Place and The Louie D Project is at Midtown Bar & Grill on King. Friday & Saturday – The Mason Dixon Band (w/ Scott Bucholtz) is at The Strike Zone – Summerville. Saturday Night: Will Hoge w/ Sarah Cole & The Hawkes at The Windjammer – IOP. Saturday, Sunday and Monday – Homemade Wine is at Red’s Icehouse on Shem Creek. Sunday: Momma & The Redemption Band (w/ Jojo Wall) at Bowens Island – 4 pm also catch Captain Kirk w/ Starling and others at Fat Boys Band Bash in Moncks Corner starting at 1:00 and running all night! Later, The Louie D Project will be at Snapper Jacks on Folly. Monday: Shovels and Rope (Cary Ann Hearst & Michael Trent) at the Pour House – 5 pm

And if you're up for a trip out of town, Gary Erwin recommends you check out the NEW RIVER BLUES FESTIVAL, Sunday, September 4, starting at noon, in Jefferson, NC (in the mountains, not far from Boone, Blowing Rock).
