Thanks for the big crowd at Home Team Tuesday night, we had a great party and jam for Nature Boy Nik’s B-day! Here are some blues gigs for this weekend, November 19th - 22…..

The Lowcountry Blues Club Memphis Fundraiser is this Thursday at Home Team BBQ, Sullivan’s Island . Skye Paige and the Original Recipe will kick the night off at 9:30 PM and my band, Dan Wright and the New Beat will perform a set of brand new, original music from 10:30 to 12:30. The cover is $5 and all of the funds will be used for the Lowcountry Blues Club’s trip to the International Blues Challenge in January. We’ll have special guests Trey Cooper on keys, Fred Hale on percussion, and Matt Kearney (from the Holy City Sinners) on sax. CD’s will be for sale for $3.

Savannah-based blues-rock trio Hitman — singer/guitarist Brett "Hitman" Barnard and the rhythm section of bassist Maggie Evans and drummer Marc Corday — blast through an amped-up set of Hendrix, Clapton, the Allmans, and a few original compositions. 9 p.m. $5 At A Dough Re Mi in Mt. Pleasant, Ben Sawyer Blvd next to the Pig.

The Charleston Jazz Orchestra, Charleston’s own resident big band will close out its inaugural season with A Suite Holiday, Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 7pm at the band’s House of Swing at Charleston Music Hall, Charleston, SC. Doors open at 6pm.

Cole Train will be at Mojo’s oin Summerville on Friday and Saturday starting at 9pm.

Johnny Mac & the Booty Ranch is at the Sand Dollar on Folly Beach Fri. & Sat.
