Blues jam this coming Wednesday night!

Hi Blues Club friends --

Our big news is that the weekly jams will start up again this coming Weds night May 5at Home Team BBQ in West Ashley, 8ish, and we hope you'll be there! We'd like to show Home Team that we have lots of blues jam fans, so mark your calendars - and come hungry for some great bbq!

Also, the Lowcountry Blues Club needs some new writers for this blog/email newsletter. Please consider volunteering to write an installment just once a month for us. You'll receive info about what's going on around town, and write up a summary (like this one). If you're interested, please let us know at lowcountrybluesclub@gmail.com.

If you receive this email in time, I recommend you check out Dan Wright and the New Beat at the Windjammer (Thurs, Apr 29), show at 10:30. This coming Friday night (Apr 30) you can head over to Bowens Island for Smoky Weiner's jam. Or you might want to see Columbia band American Gun at the Tin Roof, 9pm, in West Ashley - they've been compared to Wilco by some, and have some great songs... And on Sat, May 1, you can take a road trip to Myrtle Beach to see Shrimp City Slim band play 130-3 pm: Myrtle Beach Mayfest (w/Buddy Guy, Tinsley Ellis) - sounds like fun!! On Saturday night in West Ashley Skye Paige opens for Whiskey Trail Outlaws at the Tin Roof, 9pm. Skye's got a new cd, so check that out!

If you miss A Dough Re Mi's pizza, be sure to check out their new space in the Shops at Brickyard in Mt Pleasant, 2700 Hwy 17 -- opening this Friday!

If you're a songwriter, check out www.songwritingcompetition.com -- they just announced their 2009 winners, and you can enter to win some of the $150,000 in cash and prizes that they'll be giving away for 2010.
